WHAT IS RUSSELL’S CLASSICAL CONSORTIUM?

Twice each month, we gather live on Zoom to listen, talk, and explore music together.
You don't need to be an expert. You only need to be curious.

 
 

We gather live on Zoom twice each month, generally on the first and third Mondays at 5 PM Pacific, to listen, talk, ask questions, laugh, and explore music together. Sometimes I lead the conversation. Sometimes I'm joined by remarkable musicians, composers, conductors, and other guests.

I’m a composer, conductor, and educator based in Los Angeles. I founded and direct the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra and speak regularly for the Los Angeles Philharmonic. For decades, my work has centered on a question that continues to fascinate me: what makes music come alive when we really listen?

 



CHOOSE HOW YOU'D LIKE TO PARTICIPATE

CONSORTIUM MEMBER — $20/month Join the conversation. Two live Classical Hangouts each month, guest conversations with musicians and other fascinating people, and access to Consortium posts and community.

SUPPORTING MEMBER — $50/month Support the music. Everything in Consortium Membership, with additional support for my composing, performing, teaching, and musical explorations. From time to time, I’ll invite Supporting Members to rehearsals, behind-the-scenes experiences, special gatherings, and other opportunities as they naturally arise.

PATRON — $100/month Be part of what comes next. Patrons choose to stand behind my creative work in a particularly meaningful way, giving me greater freedom to follow an idea, develop a new composition, experiment with a project, or pursue a musical possibility simply because I believe it is worth exploring. Patrons receive all Consortium and Supporting Member benefits, along with a closer window into my creative work as it takes shape.

 

Classical Hangout Schedule

Our Classical Hangouts generally meet on the first and third Mondays of each month at 5:00 PM Pacific Time.

When holidays, concerts, or other conflicts arise, I’ll schedule an alternate Monday and announce any changes well in advance.

All Hangouts begin at 5:00 PM Pacific Time on Zoom.

Occasional schedule changes may be necessary. Any changes will be announced in advance.
