Yet Franz Schubert left a legacy both as not only the most gifted song master, but as a composer who modulated the Classic language of Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven into the Romantic Era, fusing song into instrumental sonatas and symphonies. These talks explore Schubert’s songs and their connection to his piano, chamber, and symphonic music. And he did all this in a personal style of exquisite intimacy that earns him a special place in the hearts of classical music lovers.
